[Sponsored] Review ~ CARA Blue Circle Lenses from Klenspop

Monday, June 08, 2015

Hi everyone! Back with another circle lens review, sponsored by Klenspop again. They like my second review (thanks!) and sent me two more pairs of lenses, grey and blue. Here's my review of the blue ones first! You can check out my first review here.

I've never actually worn any blue circle lenses before so I was pretty excited to try these on and see how I look with blue eyes :) Read on for the rest of the review!

I usually tend to go for lenses that look more natural in color and are just slightly enlargening, so I've never tried blue ones before and I was really excited to see how I'd look with light eyes haha c: These lenses actually are pretty natural looking (for blue lenses anyways) as the color fairly dark but still vivid and very pretty!

The usual packaging, a paper box with the contacts in little jars, a contact case and a pair of little tweezers that are very cute but I never use, haha.

The contents of the box of lenses ( you can check out my last review for more detailed pictures of the packaging it shipped in) with the prescription written on top of the jars. My eyes are very bad as you can see :p

What the lenses look like in the bottles. The blue actually looks very vivid, and the dark limbal ring has a nice enlargening effect.

Here is the info for the lenses according to the klenspop website:

CARA Blue

Brand: M.I Contact
Diameter: 14.0mm
Graphic Diameter: 13.3mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Life Span: 1 year (Max)
Country of origin: South Korea
I've never heard of the brand before, but then again I'm not very knowledgeable about contact brands to be honest.

And noooow, time for the pictures! I took like 10348976 selfies with these lenses and I actually ran out of memory on my camera hahaa (narcissist problems lol)

Under strong natural light:

The blue looks kind of dark when actually worn and isn't as obvious, but my natural eye color is still pretty visible. The light blue only really shows with very strong natural lighting.

They do still look blue, but a lot more natural from a distance :) they almost look a little grey?

Under indoor light:
I found that these lenses looked quite similar in most lighting except very strong light, usually they look dark blue, and sometime brown in very dim light.

Review:

Appearance/color : 4.5/5
I really liked how these lenses looked, I've always wanted to see how I'd look with blue eyes heehee :) They're fairly natural and don't look too scary, and I personally think the color looks pretty. However, the design is pretty standard for circle lenses and it's nothing very special. I think the design could have made the transition between blue and black shades slightly more subtle with more speckling.

Comfort: 3.5/5
I mentioned how the bunny color brown lenses were quite comfortable and exceeded my expectations, but sadly these ones did not quite match up. They definitely weren't uncomfortable, I could wear them for the day with only some dryness towards the end. However, Sometimes they didn't focus right away when I blinked. My main issue is that sometimes I felt like I couldn't see very clearly, Not as in unfocused, but just that my vision wasn't as good with these on than say with my usual contacts, which are the same prescription as these. I basically had some trouble seeing things a little farther away, which is kind of annoying but I didn't wear them to class so it wasn't too bad lol. Also, that slight stinging feeling that comes right after putting contacts on was kind of noticeable whenever I closed my eyes. I probably wouldn't recommend wearing these for too long, but I don't think they're extremely uncomfortable, they're just alright. I've tried worse haha :p

Enlargement: 4/5
I'm not a huge fan of extremely enlarging lenses, so I think these were just the right amount of enlargement. The dark black ring gives the lenses a nice enlargement effect even though the actual diameter is not huge. I think it's a good in between of enlarging. and natural lenses.

Thank you for reading my post and I hope that this was helpful to you in some way when deciding what lenses to get! You can get these lenses for only $13.00 on Klenspop!
